Current Weather Today LIVE: The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in parts of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Friday, July 10. Mumbai is also expected to receive light rainfall. On Thursday, Delhi and Mumbai continued to face rain-related problems such as waterlogging and traffic jams.

Delhi rain

The IMD has issued an orange alert in Delhi and predicted heavy rainfall on Friday, July 10. Rain activity is likely to decrease from July 11 onwards, according to the IMD forecast.

“Rainfall and occasional thunderstorm activity will be reduced with effect from the afternoon/evening of 07/10/2026,” the IMD said on Thursday.

The IMD also warned of “minor disruption to road traffic. Increased likelihood of traffic accidents, power outages, partial damage to vulnerable structures due to strong winds.”

Delhi recorded moderate rainfall (41.8 mm) in June this year with a deficit of 44 percent. Last year, the city experienced heavy rainfall in June (107 mm).

Mumbai is raining

Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra are likely to witness a drop in rain activity on Friday, with the IMD forecasting light rainfall over most parts of the state.

Orange alert was issued in Pune and Satara while yellow alert was issued in Raigad, Kolhapur, Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Chandrapur and Ghadchiroli.

It’s raining UP

The IMD issued a red and orange alert in parts of Uttar Pradesh on Friday. A red alert has been issued in Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Muradabad, Bareilly, Pilbhitu, Badaun, Sambhal and Jyotibaphule Nagar, predicting extremely heavy rainfall.

Orange alert has been issued in districts including Sitapur Hardoi, Bulandshahr, Saharanpur, Khushinagar, Kheri, Shahjahanpur and Hapur.

The rest of the state was on yellow alert.

Uttarakhand is raining

Uttarakhand has also been put on red and orange alert. The IMD has issued a red alert in Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat and Nainital.

Orange alert has been sounded in Rudraprayag, Chaoli, Almora, Begeshwar and Pithoragarh.

Southwest Monsoon:

The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab, covering the entire country today, July 9, 2026, the IMD said on Thursday.
