New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted another week of heavy rainfall in northwest India, with Uttarakhand facing the risk of flash floods.
Central and southern peninsular India is expected to experience subdued monsoon activity in the next six to seven days, the IMD said.
According to the latest update from the Met office, widespread rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir till July 12, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between July 11 and 16 and eastern Uttar Pradesh during July 11 to 13.

The IMD has also forecast a low to moderate risk of flash floods for several districts of Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Nainital, Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh, warning of surface runoff and waterlogging in low-lying areas due to rains during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40-60 kmph, gusting to 80 kmph at isolated places are also likely to occur over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana and Nic Above Maharashtra Island, Karnataka Island and Karnataka.
