Amid continued rains in several parts of the country, two airlines, Akasa Air and SpiceJet, on Tuesday issued a travel advisory warning passengers of possible flight disruption due to adverse weather conditions in Mumbai and Dharamsala.

Akasa Air said heavy rains in Mumbai could lead to delays across its network and urged passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
“Due to the heavy rains in Mumbai, some flights across our network may be delayed. We understand that this may complicate your travel plans and ask for your patience and understanding. While this situation is completely beyond our control, please be assured that our teams are always ready to assist you,” the airline said in a statement.
The airline advised passengers to check the latest status of their flights before starting their journey to the airport.
SpiceJet Travel Consultancy
SpiceJet also said that adverse weather conditions in Dharamsala may affect all arrivals, departures and their subsequent flights.
“Due to bad weather at Dharamsala (DHM), all departures/arrivals and their onward flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to check their flight status,” the airline said.
SpiceJet has asked passengers to check their flight status before traveling to the airport.
IMD rain forecast
Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted a significant increase in rain activity in Himachal Pradesh in the coming days as the Southwest Monsoon moves further into the region.
The department has predicted light to moderate rain accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and snowfall at higher elevations until June 30. Rain activity is likely to expand during the latter part of the forecast period, with isolated heavy rainfall expected.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are likely at isolated places in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts during the week.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rains are very likely at isolated places in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts.
The Meteorological Department has also predicted that Madhya Maharashtra may experience heavy rainfall between June 25 and 27 and again on June 30.
