A petrol tanker and a milk tanker catch fire in a freak accident near Doddaballapur

A petrol tanker and a milk tanker were destroyed in a fire in an accident near mile 11 in Doddaballapur taluk on Thursday.

Four people, including the drivers of both vehicles, had a narrow escape, and no one was injured in the accident.

According to the police, the petrol tanker, which lost control and hit a tree on the side of the road, immediately caught fire. The flames quickly spread to a nearby milk tanker, which backed up at the same time. Both drivers managed to jump out of their vehicles in time and escaped without injury. Two others on the road also narrowly escaped.

The fire almost completely destroyed both tanks. The police went to the scene together with HZS workers and after an intensive intervention they brought the fire under control.

Initial reports indicate that speeding may have been the cause of the accident. Doddabelavangala police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
