A video of a passenger lighting a lamp in an AC coach has sparked debate on social media. The clip emerged shortly after a video of a man performing a religious ceremony inside an Indian train went viral. A video shared on X shows the “priest” sitting on the top bunk of the train, lighting a lamp with all his might and praying, ignoring the concerns of other passengers.
The person recording the video asks him, “Yeh aap kya kar rahe ho?” To this the passenger replies, “Pooja journey ho raha hai, diya lag raha hai.”
The person filming the incident urged the passenger to stop the ritual and said, “Aarti toh band kara do, abhi agar fire alarm baj jaayega toh kya karloge aap?”
The video, shared by X Jharkhand Rail, has sparked a debate among social media users.
Many users said that religious practices should not endanger other passengers, especially in shared public spaces such as trains.
Several people also questioned how open fire was allowed inside an AC coach and urged the railway authorities to identify the passenger and take legal action.
Railway Seva responds
Seva Railway responded to the viral post and asked for the train number and PNR details of the passenger so that the matter could be investigated.
Safety concerns raised online
The video also reignited conversations about fire safety on trains. Many social media users pointed out that the rail cars are equipped with smoke detection and fire safety systems to protect passengers. They said that even a small flame or smoke inside the bus could trigger panic or in the worst case lead to a fire.
