The Indian Election Commission (ECI) on Monday (August 25, 2025) said it has organized almost 5,000 structured meetings with political parties in all levels in the last six months.
These meetings were assumed by the survey authority at the conference of the main election officers (CEOs) held in March 2025.
A total of 4,719 structured meetings with all political parties containing 40 meetings of the main election officers, 800 voters’ representatives and 3,879 election officials have been involved, have since involved more than 28,000 representatives of different political parties, ECI said.
The heads of all six recognized national parties were invited, and in May 2025 the heads organized meetings with their heads/justified representatives of five national parties. These meetings were on their requests in addition to ECI meetings with other delegations of political parties.
The Commission said it also interact with 17 recognized state political parties in July and August 2025.
“These proactive meetings are a new initiative of the Commission,” the statement said.
