The second edition of the Namma Art Bengaluru National Art Exhibition was launched at Karnataka Chitrakala Parish in the city on Wednesday (May 6). The exhibition will be open until May 10.
Featuring more than 150 artists from across India, it is curated by Lina Vincent, an art curator and historian. It showcases several art forms including Mysore paintings, fluid art, contemporary art, copper, brass and terracotta sculptures and features artists from states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh among others.
Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar, Chairman and Managing Director, Kirloskar Systems Pvt. Ltd., who inaugurated the exhibition, said that art is not just what hangs on the wall but what we make of it.
“I started my artistic journey eight years ago, during the Covid-19 lockdown, and since then I have been exhibiting my artwork in exhibitions across India. I have participated in Chitra Santhe before. This is the first time I am exhibiting my work at Namma Bengaluru Art. I feel that such initiatives offer artists a great platform to exhibit their work, connect with other artists and also sell their creations at the exhibition. Archana S.
