Stressing the need for Aadhaar enrollment of children, the Mandya Deputy Commissioner said that more than 4,000 children between the age of three and six years were not enrolled in Aadhaar in the district.
Mr. Kumar, who attended the Poshan Abhiyan meeting of Women and Child Development Department in Mandya on Monday, November 17, instructed officials to ensure Aadhaar registration of all children in this age group in the district within the next one month.
He asked the officials to deploy Aadhaar enrollment staff in anganwadis with large number of children and ensure that they get their Aadhaar cards on the spot. “Since Aadhaar is mandatory for school admission, officials must take special interest in ensuring enrollment for all children,” he said.
He also asked the officials to verify that nutritional food is being properly supplied to all the anganwadis. He said that a new mobile application has been prepared for the anganwadi workers. It allows them to upload photos showing the children’s attendance and the nutritious diet provided to them, he said, while strictly warning them against supplying expired food.
He also asked the officials to take necessary steps to fill the vacancies of anganwadi workers and helpers in the district.
Mandya Zilla Panchayat Planner Dhanush, Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department Asha, Deputy Director of School Education Department Lokesh, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department Srinivas and other officials were also present.
