Internet-famous faces of CJP’s July protest are back together: What their ‘Season 2’ video shows amid CEC uproar in Delhi | Today’s news

The faces that became familiar during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests in July have been seen together again, with their last appearance on social media sparking renewed interest around the October 10, Saturday protest in Delhi that led to the detention of more than 7,000 people.

Instagram user Abhinav Bisht has shared a new video featuring Muhammad Shan and Nikhil Verma that revives the trio’s association with earlier demonstrations. The clip came with the caption “Ready for Season 2”, hinting at the return of the viral personalities who gained attention online during the July protests.

The CJP has called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Critics have raised concerns about voter deletion, while the Electoral Commission has argued that the exercise is part of its electoral roll verification process.

Delhi Police refused permission for Saturday’s protest, citing public order and procedural compliance concerns. The capital has also seen increased security and restrictions.

Bisht, who gained a lot of favor thanks to reels shot with other protesters, became one of the recognizable faces on social media of the earlier agitation. His videos, compiled for the song Aaj Ruswa Teri Galiyon Mein Mohabbat Hogi, have helped him attract more than 9 thousand followers.

In the latest clip, Bisht, Shan and Verma pose together in front of a barricade while familiar music from their earlier reels plays in the background. The setting and soundtrack give the video a nostalgic feel, bringing back memories of the July demonstrations, when protest footage, memes and music went beyond the rally itself.

Bisht also captioned the post “S1 Players,” reinforcing the playful comparison between the protests and the series returning for another season.

Netizens react

One social media user commented: “Greatest collaboration ever”, another commented: “Legends in one shot”. A third said, “Enter by wild card.” The viral video has garnered over 16 million views on Instagram.

Why CJP’s protest faces went viral

The CJP’s July agitation centered on the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and demands for accountability in the education system, including calls for the resignation of the then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Students, job seekers and other well-wishers gathered at Jantar Mantar, some of them traveling from outside Delhi to attend.

The protests have also developed a strong online presence. Participants shared videos, used popular songs, and incorporated humor and memes into their messages, helping individual protesters become recognizable outside of the protest site.
