Rangayana’s nine-day theater fiesta to add color to Dasara

The nine-day theater and folk-art fiesta will add a cultural dimension to the Mysuru Dasara celebrations, with Rangayana hosting Navaratri Rangotsava-2026 at its Bhoomigeetha Rangamandira from October 11 to 19.

Organized as part of the “Nada Habba” festivities, the festival will feature a series of theater productions and performances of various folk art forms, offering theater and art lovers a cultural experience during the festival season.

Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj S. Thangadagi will inaugurate the event on October 11 at 5 p.m. Kannada and Culture Ministry Secretary Manjushree will also launch a photo exhibition showcasing Rangayana theater productions.

Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru G. Lakshmikantha Reddy, Kannada and Director of Culture Department KM Vasundhara and Joint Director of Mysuru Division Nirmala Mathapati will be among the chief guests.

As part of the inaugural celebrations, Rangayana will felicitate theater artists from Mysuru with the ‘Navaratri Rangagourava’ award in recognition of their contribution to theatre.

Rangayana Director Satish Tiptur, Deputy Director MD Sudarshan and others will participate in the programme.

Rangayana appealed to theater enthusiasts and the public to support the festival.
