For the first time, people attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program in Vadodara on Tuesday could register online for free through BookMyShow. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has used a private digital platform to process registrations for the event.

The response was strong, all available places were filled within an hour of registration opening. Registration was subsequently halted and more than 42,000 applicants were placed on a waiting list.

How will entry to the event be managed?

The program will use a fully digital entry system. Attendees who register successfully will receive an M-Ticket via their BookMyShow account, which will contain a secure live QR code for entry checks.

Registration, verification, entry to the venue and seating arrangements will all be done digitally. The system is aimed at speeding up entry and ensuring smoother crowd movement at the venue.

What projects will PM Modi inaugurate in Gujarat?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Gujarat and Maharashtra on Tuesday, where he is scheduled to lay foundation stones, inaugurate and dedicate several development projects worth more than ₹35,000 million crowns.

In Vadodara, Modi will dedicate three key sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) to the nation. The sections together cover 326 route kilometers and were built for more than 100,000 ₹20,700 million crowns.

The sections are New Sanand (N)-New Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-New JNPT.

How will the freight corridor benefit the country?

A direct link with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) is expected to speed up export-import (EXIM) cargo movement. It will also improve connectivity between industrial hubs and ports, reduce logistics costs and help ease pressure on Mumbai’s rail network.

With the commissioning of these sections, the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network will be fully operational along its entire length.

The dedicated freight network is expected to further improve India’s logistics infrastructure by enhancing multimodal connectivity, reducing transit time and enabling smoother movement of cargo between different parts of the country.

The Prime Minister will also announce freight trains from New Sanand (North), New Makarpura, New Umbergaon and New JNPT, Mumbai. In addition, it will mark a new passenger train service between Tanda Road and Vadodara (Pratapnagar).

The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the new Jobat–Tanda Road railway line, developed under the Chhota Udepur–Dhar project. The new railway line will connect the remote and tribal areas of Alirajpur with the national railway network.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for three railway projects with a length of 329 kilometers and a cost of more than ₹9,700 million crowns. These include Vadodara-Ratlam third and fourth lines, Miyagam Karjan-Choranda-Malsar gauge reconstruction and Vishwamitri-Dabhoi dualling project. The projects will boost passenger and freight transport capacity, ease congestion and enhance connectivity between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for three national highway projects costing around ₹1,780 million crowns. These include the six-lane sections of Kamrej-Chalthan NH-48; construction of other structures, including major bridges over the Tapi and Narmada, on the Vadodara-Surat section of NH-48; and flyover structures at Abhava, Mindhola and Khajod junctions on NH-53.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various worthwhile projects of the Government of Gujarat ₹2,600 million crowns. Major projects for which foundation stone will be laid include Vadodara Urban Development Authority Ring Road Phase II and 110 MW floating solar project at Kadana Dam, construction of new Vadodara Municipal Corporation office among others. The projects to be inaugurated include housing projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and a water supply project for 11 villages in East Vadodara, among others.

In Mumbai, the Prime Minister will launch Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026, one of the largest and most influential annual fintech conferences in the world.

The seventh edition of the Global Fintech Fest takes place from 8 to 11 September 2026 in Mumbai. Since 2020, the GFF has emerged as an international thought leadership platform bringing together policymakers, regulators, central banks, financial institutions, fintechs, technology companies, investors, academia and other global stakeholders to address shaping the future of finance.

The theme of GFF 2026 is “Impact Potential: Agentic AI, Tokenization, Quantum – Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance.”

GFF 2026 has been designed as a convergence point for policy, regulation, technology, capital and industry on a common platform. It seeks to build on India’s leadership in digital payments and financial inclusion and move from potential to impact. The discussion will focus on how agentic artificial intelligence, programmable finance, quantum technologies and other critical and emerging technologies can create credible, inclusive and measurable outcomes for citizens, businesses and economies around the world.
