Sources told India Today that Indian cricketers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shafali Verma have received the first “missed test” notices from the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) under the failure to stay rule after they were not found at the declared locations for scheduled drug tests.
Both players are part of the NADA’s registered testing pool, which requires athletes to provide a specific time slot and location for out-of-competition testing. The BCCI was also kept in the loop about the announcement.
According to sources, Yashasvi missed the scheduled test on December 17, while Shafali was not available for testing on November 7 last year. Three failures to locate within a 12-month period may constitute an anti-doping violation and may result in a ban of up to two years.
