‘Varuna Yagam’, ‘Aruna Parayanam’ and ‘Surya Yantra Puja’ marked the sixth day of proceedings of the nine-day ‘Bharatha Vishwaguru Sankalpa Siddhi Mahayagam’ currently underway at the Puttur Siddhartha Educational Group campus in Tirupati district on Sunday.
Group president Siddhartha K. Ashok Raju, who is also the BJP state vice-president, said the ‘mahayagam’ was conducted to pray for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s health and longevity and for India to become a knowledge superpower, a ‘Vishwaguru’.
“Due to the heat wave and dry conditions prevailing due to El Nino impact across the state, the ‘Varuna Yagam’ aimed at propitiating the rain god is expected to bring abundant rainfall and a bountiful harvest,” Mr. Raju said.
“Kalyanotsavam” was held in the evening to the deities of Lord Srinivasa and His consorts. Satyavedu MLA Koneti Adimoolam, former Deputy Chief Minister K. Narayanaswamy and Koduru Elite Hospital chairman Balasubramanyam were among the hundreds of devotees who attended.
