Actor and wrestler Saurav Gurjar has been arrested by the Gachibowli police in a sexual exploitation case

Actor and professional wrestler Saurav Gurjar has been taken into judicial custody after the Gachibowli police took him into custody following a complaint by a woman who accused him of sexually exploiting her on the basis of an alleged false promise of marriage.

Mr Gurjar was detained by immigration officials at Mumbai airport on the night of September 17 after arriving from the Middle East. A Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him in connection with the case.

The Gachibowli police team brought him to Hyderabad on Saturday and produced him before a magistrate who sent him to judicial custody on Sunday.

A case was registered on August 15 under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, which deals with intercourse by fraudulent means.

According to the complaint, the woman met Mr. Gurjar through Instagram in 2021, after which they stayed in touch through WhatsApp. They first met in person on 25 December 2021 and continued their relationship while she was in the United States and after her return to India.

The woman alleged that Mr. Gurjar promised to marry her and assured her that she would have rights equal to those of a wife. She further claimed that he convinced her to leave her job in the US on the promise that they would start a business together.

She alleged that Mr. Gurjar later subjected her to physical and mental harassment and distanced himself and blocked her phone number whenever she raised the issue of marriage.

According to the complaint, Mr Gurjar stayed with her from October 2025 to March 2026 and subsequently lived with her in Hyderabad before allegedly leaving without informing her.
