Appalling questions the removal of power records at substations

HYDERABAD

Former minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao alleged that farmers were not even provided with 12-hour power supply a day, leave aside the government’s claim of round-the-clock supply.

During a surprise visit to the Motakondur substation in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district on Sunday, he tried to find out why no logs were kept at the substations to record the timing of supplies. He said the substation staff hid the diary with instructions from ruling party leaders fearing it would reveal facts about power supply to the agricultural sector.

He asked Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Alair MLA Beerla Ilaiah to come to any substation during the night for a debate on power supply to the agriculture sector. He sought to know why Congress leaders, who had repeatedly spoken in opposition about the diary, are now silent.

Criticizing the Congress government for resorting to diversionary politics by talking about his family’s properties, Mr. Harish Rao said that all his properties were disclosed in the 2018 and 2023 election declarations and income tax returns.
