Palamuru was looted under BRS rule, says Komatireddy

Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy accused the previous BRS government of neglecting irrigation and development in Palamur while former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son KT Rama Rao were busy building estates.

Mr. Venkat Reddy, who initiated and initiated development works worth nearly ₹ 200 crore in Devarakadra constituency, alleged that the BRS government had failed to complete several irrigation projects despite being in power for 10 years.

He said the Congress government had completed Jurala and Nettampadu projects while KCR had failed to complete the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation project. He also questioned the previous government’s handling of the diversion of water from the Krishna towards Rayalaseema through the Pothireddypadu scheme.

“If projects like SLBC, started during the Congress regime, had been completed in the last 10 years, farmers would not have had to face the present hardship,” he said, adding that ₹560 crore had been deposited in the collector’s account to acquire land for the Uddandapur project and ensure that the Karivena reservoir would be filled with water within seven to eight months.

The minister started work on the HAM road from Meenugonipalli at an estimated cost of ₹ 158.36 crore and laid the foundation stone for the ₹ 40 crore high-level bridge over the Ookachetthu Vaga. He also inaugurated a ₹6-million bridge over the same stream at Madanapuram. Referring to the Kurumoorthy Temple Ghat Road, he said the road would be completed by July next year.
