A search for a house in Bengaluru has gone viral after an aspiring tenant came across a balcony-fixed toilet. The video, shared on social media by Chennai-based content creator Thrisha on Friday, has amassed over 3.4 million views, 58.6k likes and several comments.
The caption of the Instagram post reads: “Hunting in banglore so far.” The video begins with Trisha’s acquaintance leading to the balcony, while an overlay reads, “Wait till you see what’s on the balcony.” When the door opens, Thrisha is surprised to see a fully functional toilet located on the balcony. With a grill on one side, the balcony provides a view outside.
Thrisha proceeds to check the operation of the flush tank and the bidet shower, and surprisingly, both are found to be working. Amused by the placement, Thrisha is heard saying, “How can anyone sit here and do their thing.”

A look at Bengaluru’s rental market
Bengaluru, India’s IT hub, continues to attract talent from across the country, fueling demand for housing, pushing rents to record highs in several tech corridors. Bengaluru’s rental market has long been one of the most expensive in the country. In major employment centers like Whitefield, Marathahalli, HSR Layout, Bellandur and Koramangala, rents are highest.
According to a report by Search Himes India, Bagalur has seen a staggering 90% increase in rental costs over the past four years, largely due to the end of the telecommuting era. Whitefield and Sarjapur Road have seen significant rent increases, with increases of up to 85%.
