Engineering students urged the use of technology for social transformation
Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar on Saturday emphasized the importance of innovation, adaptability and continuous skill development in a rapidly evolving technological environment.
Addressing the 25th convocation ceremony of Seshadri Rao Gudlavalleru Engineering College (SRGEC), Mr. Chandra Sekhar urged young engineers to use technology for social transformation, especially in rural development, and encouraged them to become job creators rather than job seekers.
Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu addressed the graduates and urged them to combine technical expertise with ethical values and lifelong learning.
A total of 1,336 students graduated during the 2025-26 academic year, with 1,165 students qualifying for a degree. Degrees were awarded in several disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical and electronic, electronics and communication, computer science, information technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning, artificial intelligence and data science, and the Internet of Things.
NSS band members and NCC cadets took out an impressive academic procession while college chairman Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao, principal Burra Karuna Kumar and others participated.
