In Tiruppur on Saturday, DMK president and Chief Minister MK Stalin compared his burning of a copy of the Constitution Amendment Bill on April 16 to his defeat in Parliament the next day, saying the flames of the DMK’s black flag protest had burnt the BJP’s saffron flag.
While campaigning for DMK candidates and its allies contesting from assembly segments in Tiruppur district, a beaming Mr. Stalin broke into song, belting out ‘En kitte modhadhe…’ from Superstar Rajnikanth’s Rajadhi Raja and tweaking the verses to suggest that Tamil Nadu, like the stronghold of Periyar and Anna, was impregnable to emphasize his sense of victory.
