
On Tuesday, the State Cabinet approved the establishment of a specialized secretariat for Kalyan Karnataka to supervise and speed up development work in the region.
The announcement of this decision, the development of rural areas and Minister Panchayat Raj Priyank Kharge said that the new ministry will strengthen monitoring and ensure timely implementation of projects carried out in the Kalyana Karnataka (KKRDB) region.
“When creating this secretariat, they will receive greater development work in Kalyana Karnataka. To ensure the quick completion of the projects, the cabinet also approved other places for KKRDB and the offices of the Commissioners’ representatives in seven districts of the region,” Mr. Kharge said on X.
He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Siddaramaiaha, representatives of the main Minister DK Shivakumar and their colleagues for the support of this step.
The announcement came on the eve of Kalyana Karnataka Utsav, which was observed on September 17th, in 1948 to mark the liberation of the region from the Nizam government.
Main Minister Siddaramaiah will raise the national flag in Kalaburagag on Wednesday to remind himself.
The Kalyana Kernataka area consisting of districts of Bidar, Kalaburagag, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari and Vijayanagara, is one of the most backward regions in the state and has a special position according to Article 371 (a. (J) of the Constitution.
