
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan underwent surgery on Saturday after developing a medical complication. According to a Jan Sena Party press release, the actor-politician had health problems in recent months.
Kalyan had health problems during the official meeting on Friday, he added.
“Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan underwent a surgical procedure on Saturday evening,” it said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke to Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and wished him a speedy recovery. PM Modi wrote: “Spoken to Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri Pawan Kalyan Garu and inquired about his well being. He is remarkably courageous and I am sure he will recover very soon. I pray for his good health.”
In a post on XN, Chandrababu Naidu said, “Sending my best wishes to Pawan Kalyan Garu for a speedy recovery from his surgery. May he regain strength quickly and come back healthier than ever.”
On Friday, on the advice of his personal doctors, Kalyan canceled his official programs and went to the hospital, where he underwent medical tests and an MRI scan.
Based on the results of the MRI scan, doctors decided she required surgery and proceeded with the procedure, the report said.
P Hariprasad said, “Janasena Party leader Deputy CM Sri Pawan Kalyan underwent surgery on Saturday evening. He felt severe discomfort while discussing administrative matters with his officials on Friday morning. He was facing health problems for the last few months. On the advice of his personal doctors, he canceled Friday’s official engagement and visited the hospital.”
“At the hospital, the doctors performed medical examinations, including an MRI. After reviewing the reports, the medical team decided that surgery was necessary and performed the procedure. The doctors informed him that he could return to duty after a week to ten days of rest. However, they also indicated that long-term measures would be necessary and that full recovery could take longer,” the statement said.
Doctors have advised the Jan Sena chief to rest for about 10 days before resuming his official duties, ANI reported.
However, they also warned that long-term care would be required and noted that full recovery would take longer, the press release added.
