Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh on Tuesday said the state will soon find a prominent place on the world tourism map, given its rich tourism potential. While attending the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025 being held in London from November 4 to 6, the Minister said that Andhra Pradesh is striving to become a world leader in tourism through a number of investor-friendly initiatives. He said the state aims to promote its diverse attractions – including natural landscapes, monuments such as Gandikota and spiritual destinations – while focusing on sustainable development and better visitor experiences.
Mr. Durgesh, along with Special Secretary (Tourism) Ajay Jain, inaugurated the stalls of the Indian Ministry of Tourism and Andhra Pradesh at the event. The state stall featured a Kuchipudi dance performance that highlighted the vibrant culture of Andhra Pradesh and showcased its scenic beauty, historic forts, coastline and cultural heritage.
The minister held talks with more than 20 international tour operators, hotel groups and investors from the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) sector, as well as travel media and tourist boards. He informed them about the investment opportunities and tourism packages offered by the Andhra Pradesh government. Araku coffee, Pootharekulu and samples of Etikoppaka and Kondapalli colorful toys were also waiting for the stall visitors.
Mr. Durgesh briefed the international media about the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy 2024-29, which grants industrial status to the tourism sector and assured full government support to investors. Addressing groups of international visitors, he reiterated the government’s commitment to gain global recognition for Andhra Pradesh Tourism.
