The convention calls on the Kerala government. to establish a state law university

The All India Lawyers Union (AILU) state students’ convention has urged the Kerala government to set up a state law university.

A resolution passed at the convention said the centralized system would facilitate various academic and administrative processes, including admissions and enrolment, considering the presence of nearly 40 law faculties in the state. The convention also demanded that qualifications prescribed by the University Grants Commission be made mandatory for teachers appointed in law schools, according to the release.

The convention was inaugurated by GB Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi. AILU State President K. Gopalakrishna Kurup presided.
