Rayalaseema Rashtra Samithi (RRS) president Kuncham Venkata Subba Reddy has asked the state and central governments to abide by the Sribagh Pact and implement the assurance of the Rayalaseema region in it.
Addressing a program organized in Kurnool on the occasion of the signing of the Sribagh Pact on November 16, 1937, Mr. Subba Reddy said that the Central and State Governments were entering into agreements with investors to attract investment. Similarly, an agreement, the Sribagh Pact, was made and should be implemented, he said.
Mr. Subba Reddy said that the Prime Ministers and Union Ministers visited the Rayalaseema region several times but ignored even the mention of the Pact and the implementation of the assurances contained therein. He blamed successive governments for the backwardness of the region.
He promised to fight for justice in the region and said the people of the region would witness development only if a separate state was carved out. PDSU State President Bhaskar and others were present on the programme.
