‘Today’ host Savannah Guthrie shared an emotional message on Mother’s Day as the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues without a major breakthrough nearly four months after her disappearance.
Savannah Guthrie shares an emotional Mother’s Day plea
The TV presenter posted a heartfelt tribute alongside family photos on Instagram on Sunday, renewing her public appeal for information and urging anyone with knowledge of the case to come forward.
“Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie – we miss you with every breath,” Guthrie captioned her post. “We will never stop looking for you. We will never rest until we find you. We need help. Someone knows something that can make a difference. Call 1800 CALLFBI. You can be anonymous and the reward remains available. Please keep praying. Bring her home.”
The news marks Guthrie’s latest effort to keep public attention focused on the disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, who was last seen at her home in Arizona on January 31.
What happened to Nana Guthrie?
According to investigators, concerns first arose after Nancy was reported missing by family members who could not reach her. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department later confirmed that evidence at the scene indicated she did not leave the property voluntarily.
On February 2, officials said they believed Nancy had not left her residence “of her own accord,” greatly escalating concerns and prompting a broader criminal investigation.
Authorities briefly detained one person in connection with the case earlier in the investigation, though no formal charges have been announced. Investigators also obtained doorbell camera footage that allegedly showed an unidentified person trying to enter Nancy’s front door at the time of her disappearance.
Despite these initial leads, progress in the case remained limited.
In early April, she appeared during Good Shepherd New York’s digital Easter gathering, reflecting on her mother’s disappearance while sharing a message of faith and perseverance.
Guthrie stepped down from her hosting duties on NBC’s ‘Today’ show during the early stages of the search before returning to the programming desk on April 6.
Since returning, she has continued to balance her professional commitments with regular public updates on the investigation.
