Tedlapu Mallamma from the district of Dr. BRAmbedkar Konaseema, who was stuck in Muscat for almost six months, was repatriated on Friday.
Mrs. Mallamma, a native of Mummudivaram in the district of Dr. BRAmbedkar Konaseema, traveled to Muscat in February through an Indian agent to work as a domestic helper. In June, Ms. Mallamma’s employee was relieved of her duties, citing poor documentation for her continued stay.
The agency that hired Ms. Mallamma demanded extra money to find another job because she was unemployed. Dr. BRAmbedkar Konaseema District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar said that Ms Mallamma was safely repatriated with the support of Konaseema Center for Migration (KCM) and Muscat Telugu Association. KCM inquires about the agent and agency involved in recruiting Ms. Mallamma.
