The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday ordered a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on a petition filed by Congress MLA and former minister Vinay Kulkarni challenging a special court’s order convicting him and sentencing him to life imprisonment for the criminal conspiracy and murder of a young BJP leader, Yogeshgouda Goudar, in Dharwad in 2016.
A Division Bench comprising Justice Mohammad Nawaz and Justice Venkatesh Naik T. adjourned further hearing on the petition and gave CBI time to file its statement of objection.
