The Karnataka Transport Department has started integrating its Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUC/PUCC) records with the VAHAN (Parivahan) hub portal after numerous complaints of state-registered vehicles being penalized in other parts of the country due to missing emissions data in the national database.
Officials said the linking process will apply to all PUC certificates issued from April 1, 2026. The move comes after several instances where Karnataka-registered vehicles were fined up to ₹10,000 in other states because enforcement systems could not detect valid pollution certificates on the VAHAN platform.
