Actor Prakash Raj has slammed reports claiming that a Bengaluru court has issued a non-bailable warrant against him in an alleged “voter ID case” against him.
Responding to reports of him facing legal trouble, Prakash Raj called out those spreading fake news.
“Sold out fellows..Cooking up fake news and spreading it.. Must have hurt badly 😂😂😂.. But happy to have kept them busy #justasking,” Prakash Raj wrote on X on June 21.
In another post, he interviewed credibility of these reports. A rough translation of his post on X read: “These people… are some of the ones who shouted at the press conference ‘Tell me who sold it.
A day later, Prakash Raj again shared a post on social media calling the news “fake news”.
What did the reports say?
A DNA report on June 21 claimed that Prakash Raj is in “BIG trouble after criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi”. It claimed that a non-bailable warrant was issued against the actor for this reason.
The report quoted “Always Bollywood” as saying that Prakash Raj was released without bail on charges of obtaining four voter ID cards in the same name.

A post by ‘Always Bollywood’ read: “A non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued by Bangalore Magistrate Court following a case filed by Dilip Kumar against Prakash Raj. Dilip Kumar filed a suit claiming that he obtained four voter ID cards in the same name. Then a NBW was issued against Prakash, court martial, ACJM issued by ACJM Metropolitan. Magistrate.”
The post further claimed, “After Prakash Raj failed to appear despite being summoned twice and issued NBW twice, the Magistrate Court has now issued a non-bailable warrant against Prakash Raj for the third time.

India Today published the latest news. In its report on Tuesday, June 23, the media said that “A Bengaluru court has issued a warrant of arrest (NBW) against actor Prakash Raj in a case related to allegations that he is in possession of voter ID cards in multiple states.”
Sharing an image of the affidavit, the report said the matter stems from a complaint filed in 2019 by advocate Dileep Kumar at the Halasuru Gate police station.
According to the report, the complainant alleged that Raj had voter cards in four states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, which, if proved, would be a violation of election rules.

An India Today report mentioned that the 48th ACJM (Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate) court has reportedly summoned the actor twice and directed him to appear before it. However, Prakash Raj did not turn up for both the dates, it added.
It claimed, “In view of his repeated absence despite summons, the court has now issued a non-bailable warrant against the actor, raising the possibility of his arrest in connection with the case.”
