In its new proposal to end the war, Iran proposed transferring some of its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to a third country, but refused to dismantle its nuclear facilities – something the United States rejected as “unacceptable”.
In a post on social media, Trump said the response was “ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE” as both sides battle to maintain a fragile truce after a series of flare-ups of hostilities.
As a result, oil prices rose. Brent crude futures advanced as much as 4.5 percent to $105.80 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate traded near $100. Follow live updates from the Iran-US peace talks here.
