Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season is slowly turning into a collection of throwaways that no one really sees coming. The Kolkata Knight Riders batsman once again found himself in a bizarre routine during KKR’s chase against Delhi Capitals on Thursday night.
And this time even Raghuvanshi himself could only laugh.
Chasing 143 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, KKR got off to a bright start with Finn Allen and skipper Ajinkya Rahane finding early boundaries. But within a few deliveries, the shift suddenly went from smooth to chaotic.
DC vs KKR, IPL 2026: SCORECARD | UPDATE
First came Rahane’s unfortunate run-out.
Mitchell Starc bowled a 142.2km/h yorker as Allen tried to push the ball away. The hit bounced off Starc’s left hand on his follow-through and hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end, with Rahane caught outside his wicket after backing up too much.
And then came Raghuvanshi’s moment of absolute bad luck.
Bowling around middle stump, Axar Patel got Raghuvanshi to attempt a sweep. The ball brushed the batter’s glove, flew onto his shoulder, landed on his boot and then somehow rolled back onto the stumps.
Raghuvanshi never even followed where the ball went.
He only turned around after seeing the bails being pulled and immediately burst out laughing at what had just happened.
Honestly, there wasn’t much else he could do.
ANOTHER BIZZARE ANGKRISH RAGHUVANSHI’S DISMISSAL
This is not the first time that Raghuvanshi has ended up in the midst of an unusual sacking this season.
Earlier in IPL 2026 against Lucknow Super Giants, the KKR batsman became only the fourth player in IPL history. dismissed for obstructing the field.
This incident caused a great controversy.
As Raghuvanshi struggled to get back to his crease, he was adjudged to have deliberately changed the course of the run and blocked the throw. The fielding decision caused consternation in the KKR camp, but the MCC later upheld the decision, stating that it qualified as a “deliberate act” under Law 37.1.1.
The frustration of that moment also cost Raghuvanshi later.
After being sent off, he was fined 20 percent of his match fee after hitting the end-out cushions with his bat while walking back.
But Thursday’s layoff against DC brought none of that controversy.
Just pure bad luck.
