Shreyas Iyer heads into the fourth T20I under immense pressure. India have lost four of their first five matches since taking over as T20I captain, the toughest start to an Indian captain’s tenure in the format.

The contrast with its predecessors is striking. As captain, Suryakumar Yadav has never lost a bilateral T20I series, suffering only eight defeats in 52 matches. Hardik Pandya, who led India before the return of Rohit Sharma, won 11 of his 16 matches.

Even Shubman Gill has a better record, winning four of the five T20Is he has led. With the series already out of India’s reach, Bristol offers Iyer another chance to record a much-needed win and start turning his captaincy around.
