The Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc is likely to meet once the Assembly election results are announced on May 4 to discuss the way forward on the issue of women’s reservation, which has been linked to the delimitation and enlargement of the Lok Sabha.
Although the opposition managed to defeat the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill 2026 in the Chamber of Deputies, they think that the government can bring it back in some other form. And therefore, the INDIA bloc could meet by mid-May to discuss a solution to the crucial issue of delimitation, which has been linked to the Women’s Quota Act, in the bill, sources told The Hindu. However, no official announcement has been made.
