Hyderabad Police launches annual awards for excellence in investigations

The Hyderabad City Police has introduced annual awards to recognize excellence in criminal investigation and policing, recognizing 32 personnel for their performance between June 2025 and May 2026.

The awards were presented by Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar during the Telangana Formation Day celebrations held at the City Armed Reserve Headquarters in Petlaburj on Tuesday, June 2.

Under the newly established ‘Hyderabad City Police Excellence Award for Best Investigation’, 14 personnel, including four investigating officers and 10 judicial officers, were recognized for securing convictions through evidence-based investigations. Another 18 personnel received the “Hyderabad City Police Excellence Award for Best Performance” for their outstanding services in various police functions.

Police said the awardees were selected based on their role in solving cases from registering FIRs to securing convictions in courts.

The commissioner said the initiative aims to promote professional excellence and scientific research practices within the force. During the event, six citizens were also honored for exemplary civic responsibility, including acts of integrity and achievements in sports and public service.
