Two days after a horrific road accident on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road, the woman at the center of the incident has questioned why the driver allegedly involved has not been arrested.
Sia, who was riding a two-wheeler when the incident occurred, said she was shocked to see the alleged driver talking to news channels and giving his version of events, even as she awaited action from the police.
“People say it’s clear what that person did. He hit someone and left him to die on the road. And even now the person is roaming around freely. He’s giving out bytes to reporters and presenting his side of the story. How does he have so much time? Why aren’t the police arresting him? Now he has all the details. I even mentioned the vehicle number, even though Sia still couldn’t arrest him, the police still couldn’t arrest him.

Sia was riding a two-wheeler when a car allegedly driven by Kalyan Bainsla changed lanes and hit her, causing her to fall off the bike.
The outrage stems from the fact that the alleged driver, after allegedly hitting Sia, fled the scene and was not arrested despite Sia’s demands for police action.
They have taken suo motu cognizance of the viral video, registered an FIR at Sector 56 police station and are actively pursuing the case against the accused.
Sia claimed that the occupants of the car appeared to be drunk and were making gestures at her before the crash, suggesting a pursuit rather than accidental contact.

Sia recounts what happened on Golf Course Road
According to Sia, she was driving in the third lane and slowed down for traffic when the car allegedly crossed the lanes and hit her bike.
“It was really shocking; I was driving calmly in the third lane, I slowed down for traffic when he hit me. I fell. I was completely disoriented and didn’t know what had happened to me,” she said.

Sia claimed another rider tried to intervene and asked the driver to stop. Instead, she claimed, the driver denied responsibility, blamed her for the collision, and sped off after running a red light and turning left.
She also described what she believed happened immediately before the crash. According to her, the car repeatedly approached her two-wheeler and appeared to be trying to get her attention.
“In the video I posted yesterday you can see the car chasing me – I’m usually on my bike on Sundays and I was driving down Golf Course Road,” she said.
Sia claimed the car first drove very close to her before slowing down and driving alongside her. She claimed the driver and other passengers made gestures and tried to get her to stop.

“It was clear from his face that they had been drinking,” she claimed, adding that there were other passengers in the vehicle but its tinted windows made it difficult to see clearly.
Police register FIR after viral video
The Gurugram police said they took suo motu cognizance of the incident after the video went viral on social media.
According to Gurugram Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abhilaksh Joshi, the police social media monitoring cell captured the video on September 14. Subsequently, an FIR was registered at the Sector 56 police station.
“On September 14, our social media monitoring cell captured a video showing a quad bike rear-ending a female two-wheeler rider. This incident took place on Golf Course Road; Gurugram police contacted the woman and registered an FIR on suo motu cognizance at Sector 56 Police Station, Gurugram,” Joshi told ANI.

The police had earlier said that they had not received any written complaint from the victim when they launched the action based on the video footage.
Joshi said the police monitor cases of reckless or negligent driving and will take action even without a formal complaint when they notice such incidents.
“We are monitoring cases of reckless or negligent driving and any such incidents that occur in Gurugram. Even without a formal complaint, we will take suo motu cognizance and initiate action as per law,” he said.
As the video continues to gain attention online, Sia’s question now centers on what happens next — and whether police will identify and arrest the person they’ve accused of causing the crash.
