Rashid Khan and Manav Suthar make a comical catching mistake as Gujarat Titans lock horns with Chennai Super Kings in an IPL 2026 match on Sunday, April 26 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In the 18th over of CSK’s innings, Kartik Sharma was given a free after a terrible error in judgment by Rashid and Suthar.

Kagiso Rabada played a short delivery outside off and Kartik Sharma went for the pull. However, he did not time it well and sent the ball high into the square. Manav Suthar and Rashid Khan converged from deep backward square and deep mid-wicket but failed to communicate. Both hesitated, expecting the other to take it, and the ball ran away for four.
PAKISTAN AS FIELDING ERROR
Rashid and Suthar’s fielding error reminded us of the blunder committed by Shoaib Malik and Saeed Ajmal for Pakistan in 2008 against the West Indies at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. After West Indies were asked to chase 274, Umar Gul created a chance to dismiss Chris Gayle but Malik and Ajmal let the chance go.
On the second ball of the sixth over, Gul played a fuller delivery on the stumps and Gayle went for a big strike. However, he failed to catch it and the ball flew high into the night sky. Ajmal ran in from mid-off while Malik also came close. Ajmal got under him but for some reason stepped back and the ball fell between them.
Meanwhile, it wasn’t just a fielding error for Rashid, he also endured a memorable outing with the ball. He bowled just one and conceded 21 runs after being dismantled by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube. On the other hand, Suthar was quite effective, picking up the wicket of Dewald Brevis and conceding only 22 runs from his three overs.
