Eight young people, including two smaller boys who entered the Gowthami, the tributary of the Godavari River, are missing and worried about drowning. They entered the river for a bath to Kamini Lanka, an island on the Godavari River in Mummudivaram Mandal on Monday in the Dr. BR AMBEDKAR KONASEEMA.
Police superintendent B. Krishna Rao said that seven out of eight young people disappeared after they tried to save one youth that began to drown while they enjoyed the bath. “At about 14:30, a group of 11 young people went to the river to bathe when one of them began to drown. Three others who tried to save him were mistaken. Four young people who went to save their friends were also washed.
