CJP Protest News LIVE Updates: Activist Sonam Wangchuk ended her fast on Friday and the government agreed to hold talks with the protesters at a neutral venue. The meeting will be held on Friday at the Constitutional Club of India. Saurav Das, Chief Spokesperson, Cockroach Janta Party, said, “… A discussion has been called tomorrow, we are very happy that the government has agreed to our request to have it at a neutral venue. The Constitution Club of India has been chosen…”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a rare, personally recorded midnight video around midnight on Thursday.
Sonam Wangchuk ends her hunger strike after 26 days
Sonam Wangchuk ended her hunger strike after 26 days on Friday in the presence of Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh and senior officials of the Leh Ladakh apex body.
In a post on X, Wangchuk said that the move was made after long negotiations on various conditions and in view of possible violence in the country. “Right now in the presence of Union Ministers JP Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh and senior officials of the Apex Body of Leh Ladakh, I have finally broken my fast after 26 days.”
“Earlier, 65 members of parliament from various political parties visited or signed letters urging me to break the fast. This was done after long negotiations on various conditions and in view of possible violence in the country. I will explain the conditions in detail in a separate video very soon. In the meantime, I urge you all to be very vigilant and not allow violence of any kind anywhere,” Wangchuk said.
JP Nadda offers reassurance to protesters
After Sonam Wangchuk ended her hunger strike at Medanta Hospital, Union Minister JP Nadda assured that the government is positively considering appropriate help for the suicidal victims of the recent NEET paper leaks.
He said, “The government is not positively registering cases against those who are peacefully protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and those who are participating in the march to Parliament on July 20, 2026. The government has already arranged threadbare discussions to find a solution to the paper leaks and education reform for the parliamentary exams. Besides, the government has also affirmed that it is considering appropriate compensation for suicide victims, recent JPET papers.
