A day after ending trade talks with Canada over a political ad invoking the late President Ronald Reagan as a free trader, US President Donald Trump on Friday accused Canada of trying to influence the US Supreme Court, saying they cheated and got caught.
“CANADA CHEATED AND GOT CAUGHT!!! They fraudulently took a large ad to buy claiming Ronald Reagan didn’t like tariffs when in fact he LOVED TARIFFS FOR OUR COUNTRY AND ITS NATIONAL SECURITY,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
The US president went on to add that Canada is trying to illegally influence the US Supreme Court in one of the most important decisions in our country’s history.
He went on to say that Canada has long cheated on tariffs and charges US farmers up to 400%, Trump said: “Now they and other countries can no longer take advantage of the USA. Thank you to the Ronald Reagan Foundation for exposing this FRAUD.”
