Tankara Talasila won his boys singles over Singapore’s Tee Kai 21-15, 21-15.The mixed pair of Param Choudhary and Aanya Bisht lost the opening round to South Korea’s Na Seon Jae and Kim Bohye 8-21, 15-21.In boxing, 15-year-old Lanchenba Singh Moibungkhongbam defeated Philippines’ Aamya Jefferson 4-1 in the girls’ 50kg quarterfinals. However, Devendra Chaudhary lost his 75kg quarterfinal match to China’s Guan Yiwen 5-0 and Udham Singh Raghav was beaten 3-1 by Ryusei Kitamura in his 54kg quarterfinal.The table tennis contingent put up a strong performance with Sarthak Arya and Syndrela Das advancing in the mixed doubles. They defeated the Maldivian pair of Nafiz Aishath and Mohamed Rafia 11-6, 11-3, 11-4.Another mixed pair, Divyanshi Bhowmick and Ritvik Gupta, booked their place in the round of 16 by defeating Imran Muhammad and Amina Adam of Maldives 11-5, 11-5, 11-4.In the individual events, Sarthak Arya won his boys’ singles group match against John Marin of the Philippines, while Hansini Mathan advanced to the preliminary quarters in the girls’ singles.Several Indians qualified for the finals in the swimming events. Nitishsai Harniath qualified for the boys’ 50m freestyle in 23.71 seconds and Vedant Tandale made it to the boys’ 100m butterfly final in 56.31 seconds.In other ventures, Aditya Jakhar finished sixth in the cycling individual time trial final. Indian girls’ handball team beat Hong Kong-China 22-12 in Group A.Shashikumar Dhakshan qualified for the boys’ 400m freestyle final with a time of 4:03.61 seconds, while Aditi Satish Hegde secured a place in the girls’ final with a time of 4:29.22. The Indian girls’ team also qualified for the final of the 4x100m freestyle relay in 4:01.01 seconds.The Indian girls’ 3×3 basketball team’s journey ended with a 15-10 loss to Iran in the quarterfinals.
