Asian Games, September 24 programme: Rowers, Roshibina headline India's medal hopes

India will have multiple medal opportunities on Day 5 of the Asian Games, with rowing, wushu, shooting, canoe sprint, swimming and athletics featuring on September 24.

The day begins with rowing where Balraj Panwar will compete in the men’s double sculls A final at 5:10 am IST. Satnam Singh and Salman Khan will then compete in the men’s double sculls A final. India will also have medal events in women’s quadriathlon, men’s lightweight double sculls and men’s quadriathlon.

Roshibina Devi will be another big medal hope when she takes on China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the women’s Sanda 60kg final at 6:10 am IST.

Shooting will bring more medal opportunities, with Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal competing in the mixed team skeet final. Men’s 10m air pistol final could also feature Kedarling B. Uchaganve, Aakash Bharadwaj and Kamaljeet, subject to qualification.

In athletics, Asha Ilango and Niharika Vashisht will compete in the women’s triple jump final, while Seema will contest the women’s 10,000m final. Animesh Kujur and Gurindervir Singh will begin their men’s 100m campaign.

The Indian men’s kabaddi team faces Chinese Taipei, the men’s hockey team takes on South Korea, while the women’s kabaddi team takes on Japan.
