The Center for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) has announced seven awards for the inaugural C-CAMP One Health AMR Challenge, 2025, which addresses antimicrobial resistance (AMR) across human, animal and environmental health.
The winners for human health are: Bigtec Labs Pvt. Ltd. (A multiplex reverse transcription (RT)-PCR diagnostic solution that addresses antibiotic resistance in lower respiratory tract infections), Muse Diagnostics (TreBle Respire: an AI-driven screening platform for early detection of respiratory infections and antimicrobial surveillance), GenePath Diagnostics (Affordable, comprehensive, modular, semi-quantitative PCR and AMR laboratory detection panels for respiratory pathogens AMR (Development and validation of a point-of-care papid assay to differentiate bacterial and of viral infections in humans: Strategies for optimizing antimicrobial surveillance.)
The environmental winner is FNDR (depletion of antimicrobials and other active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) from wastewater from pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing units).
The winners in animal health are: Ultranutri (Circular solutions for shrimp health: Solving AMR with insect-based feed) and Chimertech and Quadmastest & (Inline Quadmastest (IQ): Rapid early detection of mastitis without the use of reagents to prevent unauthorized use of antibiotics and reduce AMR in dairy health.)
“We have identified a series of seven innovative solutions that address critical gaps, such as point-of-care tests to distinguish between bacterial and viral infections in clinical care, especially for respiratory tract infections (RTIs), detection of specific RTI pathogens, treatment of wastewater from pharmaceutical production units, prevention of antibiotic use in aquaculture and dairy, and so on. The first cohort has great potential to fight AMRCAMPs, Saslimarif Director, Taslimarif.
