Andhra Pradesh CM to review welfare during Collector’s Conference on 10-Sep-11

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will review the implementation of development, welfare and government programs during the eighth District Collectors’ Conference to be held at the Secretariat on September 10 and 11.

The two-day conference will be attended by ministers, special chief secretaries, chief secretaries and heads of various departments, apart from district collectors. A total of 19 topics related to development, welfare and governance were listed for discussion during the two-day conference.

The meeting will begin with a review of the adopted report on the decisions taken during the Seventh Collectors Conference. The meeting will review the implementation of government services and welfare systems at the field level, along with measures to address barriers to delivery.

On the first day, the government will take over the gross state domestic product (GSDP) and district-level development plans under the Swarna Andhra vision. The implementation of the Super Six social security schemes will also be reviewed.

Drinking water supply, housing, healthcare and education are among the other topics that will be discussed. The government will also review the state’s performance in business facilitation and implementation of the Jaladhara programme.

The conference will also discuss the performance of individual districts, with the Collectors expected to share best practices and initiatives undertaken in their respective districts.

The second day will focus on administrative functioning and administration. E-governance, disposal of files, RTGS, public grievance redressal and district rankings will be reviewed.

Land administration and the use of central government funds will also figure in the discussions. Skill development programs and welfare measures for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Minorities will be reviewed.

The law and order situation will also be discussed.
