Abhishek Sharma starts a yoga celebration after smashing the fastest T20I century by an Indian – WATCH

Abhishek Sharma (BCCI Photo) NEW DELHI: Abhishek Sharma celebrated his record T20I century in style on Thursday, taking off his helmet, sitting on the ground and assuming a meditative yoga pose after completing his hundred against Afghanistan in Delhi.The left-arm opener smashed the fastest T20I century by an Indian batter, reaching the milestone in just 30 balls during the third and final T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.Abhishek smashed 11 sixes and nine fours during his whirlwind 108-run knock off just 34 balls as he broke former India captain Rohit Sharma’s record for the fastest T20I century by an Indian.Rohit scored against Sri Lanka in December 2017 with 35 balls.Abhishek’s century was also the fastest by any batsman from the Test nation. He reached the milestone with a single in the ninth inning of the Indian innings.

Abhishek’s special celebration

After completing his century, Abhishek removed his helmet, sat on the ground and assumed a meditative yoga position.His father was smiling and clapping from the stands while India head coach Gautam Gambhir also had a big smile on his face.The century was Abhishek’s third in T20 cricket. He also has 12 half-centuries in the format.
