KTR, three others to appear before ACB in Formula E case

Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president and Sircilla MLA KT Rama Rao and three other accused in the Formula E race case are scheduled to appear before the ACB court at the CBI complex in Nampally on Friday, September 18, at 10:30 am.

Apart from Mr. Rama Rao, who is named accused number one (A1), IAS officer Arvind Kumar (A2), former HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy (A3) and former sports consultant Goveda Kiran Malleswara Rao (A4) are to attend the hearing.

The ACB filed its charge sheet in the case in March, alleging irregularities in the transfer of around ₹55 crore from HMDA accounts to Formula E Operations (FEO) in 2023 for the proposed Formula E race in Hyderabad. The agency claimed that the payments were made without mandatory approval and contrary to established financial procedures.

The ACB court subsequently took cognizance of the charge sheet and summoned the accused.

The case stems from arrangements for the Formula E championship in Hyderabad. The city hosted a Formula E race in February 2023, with an investigation into payments linked to plans to stage another edition.
