A sticky gel packet found with food on the Mysuru-Chennai Vande Bharat Express

Passengers in the Vande Bharat Express train traveling from Mysuru to Chennai were shocked to find a sticky gel packet along with the food being served.

D. Sekhar, a resident of Kathirved, said he along with several others was returning from Mysuru to Chennai city in Vande Bharat train (Train No. 20608) on Sunday (July 26, 2026) when he was shocked to find a sticky gel packet on the food tray served by the IRCTC canteen.

The passengers on the train reported the incident at the ticket office and filed a written complaint. He said this was a serious offense on the part of the food supplier which could have caused a serious threat to the health of the passengers.

A senior Southern Railway official said the incident has been reported to the IRCTC team as well as South Western Railway so that further action can be taken.
