US-Iran Ceasefire Talks: Where Negotiations Stand
A draft agreement has been reached between Washington and Tehran but is awaiting final approval from President Donald Trump, Axios officials said. Iran’s Guards-affiliated Tasnim News Agency quoted a source close to the negotiating team as saying the memorandum of understanding had neither been finalized nor confirmed. An Iranian lawmaker warned that any deal would violate Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s red lines on the Strait of Hormuz, the nuclear issue and Lebanon.
Ceasefire violations and new sanctions
The US High Command accused Iran of firing a ballistic missile towards Kuwait in a “huge ceasefire violation”. The IRGC said it targeted a US airbase in response to what it described as a hostile US attack near Bandar Abbas airport. At the same time, Washington imposed new sanctions and added the Gulf Authority to its list of specially designated nationals.

Internet connectivity has largely been restored after a three-month outage, although heavy filtering remains, according to the NetBlocks monitor. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the ongoing conflict was “in nobody’s interest”.
