MLA Sridhar Reddy’s daughter enters politics and promises TDP victory in Nellore

The sudden entry of Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy Kotamreddy Sai Vaishnavi’s daughter into politics on Sunday (May 24, 2026) turned heads in Nellore district.

Addressing a press conference for the first time in public, Ms. Vaishnavi promised to ensure a big victory for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP in the upcoming local body elections).

Mr. Sridhar Reddy is undergoing treatment for neurological problems and in his absence his younger brother Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy has taken up monitoring of development projects and party meetings. It was against this backdrop that Ms. Sai Vaishnavi’s entry assumed political significance.

Asked if she would be the political heir of the family for the Nellore Rural constituency, Ms Sai Vaishnavi said it was up to the party high command to nominate her, her father or her paternal uncle.
