Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (ANI Photo) NEW DELHI: Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his dream start to international cricket, making a stunning jump of 230 places in the latest ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings after starring in India’s 3-0 series win over Zimbabwe.The 15-year-old’s meteoric rise headlines the latest rankings update, while Ishan Kishan cemented his position at world number one after posting the third-highest batting rating in T20I history during the Harare series.

Sooryavanshi’s dream rise continues

Sooryavanshi made his mark on the international stage with a memorable series against Zimbabwe where he scored 151 runs in three matches at an average of 50.33. His performances, which included two half-centuries, earned him the Player of the Series award and a remarkable rise of 230 places in the ICC rankings.The teenage opener is now ranked 48th among T20I batsmen with 536 rating points, a new career best.While he still lags behind India’s leading stars, the leap underlines the rapid impact he has made in international cricket and cements his status as one of the game’s brightest young talents.

Ishan Kishan has reached a historical milestone

At the top of the batting charts, Ishan Kishan has retained his position as the world’s number one T20I batsman with 910 rating points, comfortably ahead of Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan, who is second on 848 points.Kishan briefly reached a career high of 916 rating points after his brilliant knock of 81 in the second T20I against Zimbabwe. That is the third highest batting average ever recorded in T20I cricket behind Abhishek Sharma (931) and England’s Dawid Malan (919).Although his rating dipped slightly after the final match, Kishan’s career-best figure of 916 remains higher than the highest ratings achieved by Indian greats Suryakumar Yadav (912) and Virat Kohli (909).As the ICC noted, “Sooryavanshi’s rating of 536 is well off his more experienced teammates, but Kishan now boasts a better career rating than more accomplished Indian players such as Suryakumar Yadav (912) and Virat Kohli (909).”

More gains for Indian stars with the white ball

India enjoyed a productive week in the T20I rankings.Tilak Varma climbed two places among the batsmen to sixth, while skipper Shreyas Iyer gained seven places to 24th after the Zimbabwe series.Among the bowlers, Ravi Bishnoi climbed 31 places to 41st after his three wickets in the series. Varun Chakravarthy, who missed the tour due to injury, dropped three places but remained in the top 10.Despite the series defeat, Zimbabwe had reason to celebrate. Ryan Burl climbed six places to 85th among T20I batsmen, while fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani moved up 10 places to 26th in the bowling rankings.
