On Saturday (April 5, 2025) on Saturday (April 5, 2025), the main Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the northeast states huge “power” and the region in the country will be the most developed.
In the northeast, roads, highways and rail networks were extended and “this is the golden period for the region, he said.
“Before 2014, the government of the northeast countries had no power, but the Prime Minister gave us so much power that eight Ashtalakshi states would be one of the country’s most developed countries.
For decades, inadequate infrastructure and investment, especially in connectivity, prevented the growth of the region and remained economically back and geographically isolated, he said at the Central Celebration of the Mopin festival in Aalo in Arnacal Pradesh.
The initiative of the Prime Minister, such as “Transport Transformation” and “Act East Policy”, led to unprecedented development of connectivity, infrastructure and economic integration, Sarma said.
” This paradigm shift unlocked the huge potential of the region and did not set it as a distant district, but as a gateway to the fastest growing economies of Southeast Asia, ” said Sarma.
Arnacal Pradesh marches forward to become a front hydrocarbon state of the country, while also appearing as the main travel center for foreigners, Sarma said.
” The Prime Minister has taken several initiatives to develop the region by the states of equal partners on the way of progress. We must try to become the head of the region under his leadership first, ”he said.
Sarma said that Assam and Arunacal Pradesh are not only geographically, but “we are also culturally close”.
” I and ARUNACHAL PRADESH Main Minister Pema Khanda are 100% determined to resolve the border dispute between two states during our work, ” said Sarma.
He said Assam’s legendary musician Dr. Bhupena Hazarika had deep love and affection for Arunacal Pradesh and vice versa, and ”, so we celebrate its centenary of birth in 2026 in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
“Arnacal Pradesh is not just a state; it is a living, breathing canvas of cultural magnificence. It is a country where tradition and modernity coexist,” he said.
The celebration of the Mopin festival allowed everyone to think about the deep importance of preserving and celebrating the indigenous tribal culture, said Mr. Sarma.
The Mopin Festival is an agricultural harvest festival, which celebrates in April Galo Arnacal Pradesh to thank the goddess Mopin and for a good harvest and seek prosperity.
The festival comes alive by Popir Dance, who will win women in traditional white garment, accompanied by folk songs.
